This year marks a major milestones for Senior Citizens Inc. as we celebrate 65 years of helping older adults in coastal Georgia age successfully.

From humble beginnings, we have grown into a cornerstone of the community, offering a continuum of care that includes Meals on Wheels, Neighborhood Centers, Adult Day Health centers, our new DayBreak center , and much more. Throughout it all, our mission has always been clear: we help people age successfully.

Our Legacy of Care

For over six decades, we have:

  • Delivered MILLIONS of Home-Delivered Meals, ensuring nutritious meals, wellness checks , and a friendly visit to homebound older adults.

  • Opened and managed neighborhood centers that provide social engagement, educational opportunities, and activities to promote healthy aging.

  • Launched The Learning Center, with exciting humanities-based programming, with hundreds of older adults to participating in enriching educational experiences every quarter.

  • Expanded our services to meet the growing and diverse needs of the community, from launching respite care programs like DayBreak to providing adult day health services.

  • 65th Anniversary Exhibit: A special exhibit showcasing SCI’s history and milestones, highlighting the impact on the community.

  • Celebrity Chef Program: Local chefs from renowned restaurants in Savannah is partnering with SCI’s Meals on Wheels kitchen to share signature recipes, adding exciting new flavors to the menu.

  • 7 Millionth Meal Delivery: Culminating the year-long celebration, SCI will deliver its 7 millionth meal to a Meals on Wheels recipient, a testament to the organization’s commitment to fighting hunger and isolation among older adults.
