Senior Citizens, Inc. Receives a Subaru Grant to Fund Meals on Wheels Program

According to Patti Lyons, president of Senior Citizens, Inc., the organization works with Meals on Wheels to serve some of Chatham County’s oldest residents. Lyons said Subaru is a long-time supporter of Meals on Wheels, and Senior Citizens Inc. just received a grant of a little over $10,000 to support its food service program.

Lyons said they rely heavily on donations to support the program, and this donation will make a dent in the waiting list for home-delivery meal service.

“It really does mean the difference between someone getting to eat tomorrow and not getting to eat," said Lyons. "For us, it’s critical, and we’re so grateful that Subaru America has recognized that this is a problem, nationwide, and particularly in our community.”
