Difference Makers: At Meals on Wheels, Whitney Benberry is the Hub that Makes It Happen

If Senior Citizens, Inc.’s volunteers are the eyes and ears of the community, Whitney Benberry is the hub. As senior director of meal services, she oversees the whole operation, which begins at 5 a.m. every weekday when the kitchen crew begins preparing those meals at their facility off Wheaton Street. Then the transportation staff picks up about half to bring to the community centers, and volunteer drivers drop off the rest to more than 700 people during the week, sometimes daily.
