TLC instructors include retired and active professors from colleges and universities, professionals from museums and other cultural institutions, and others whose training and life experiences make them experts in their disciplines.

From the Truman Parkway, exit onto Whitefield Avenue and travel east onto Skidaway Island. Once on the Island, turn left at State Park Road and immediately left into the Skidaway Community Church. Using surface streets, take Waters Avenue east and follow it as it becomes Whitefield Avenue and then Diamond Causeway.

Free parking is available at both our Bull Street and Skidaway Island locations. At Bull Street, TLC members and visitors may use the spaces on either side of and behind SCI’s building. Curbside parking is available on Bull Street and Washington Avenue.

TLC membership costs $75 per person per year. There are no household membership rates. The biggest benefit of membership is greatly reduced program fees (usually a 50% discount off rates paid by visitors). Other free-to-member benefits include access to weekly foreign language conversation circles in four languages, weekly writing groups, free monthly book clubs, and five-day-per-week access to the Club Room for coffee, conversation, newspapers, and computer access.

Many of TLC’s programs sell out quickly. Therefore, it is a good idea to pre-register for programs of great interest. Receptions are often part of TLC programs, so it’s important for us to know how many members are expected. Your pre-payment confirms your reservation. Visitors should inquire about availability and pricing.

TLC exists only through membership dues and program fees, donations, and occasional fundraising campaigns and events. To help ensure a healthy financial future for TLC, consider becoming a member and an active participant in programming, making regular financial gifts to TLC, and volunteering your time as an instructor or in some other capacity.

Visitors are welcome to sample most TLC programs with the knowledge of TLC staff. If your friend lives in the Savannah area, TLC membership is the next step after one or two visits.
